Story
I am growing a yet not-so-beautiful pair of mustaches for the entire month on November - aka Movember - to raise funds for EMERGENCY’s Ebola treatment centre in Lakka, Sierra Leone.
Emergency was funded in Italy in 1994 and to date has been active in 16 countries building 7 hospitals, 4 rehabilitations centres, 5 pediatric centre, 66 first aid posts, a maternity centre ad centre for cardiac surgery. They have been operating in Sierra Leone since 2002 with two medical facilities: a surgical centre and a pediatric centre. In response to the Ebola Crisis they opened a tretment centre in Lakka a few kilomentres from the capital in Septemebr 2014. About 110 people are working in Lakka including doctors, nurses, logistic managers, auxiliaries and cleaning staff. The international personnel comes from Italy, Serbia, Spain and Uganda.
