Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Francine and myself have been supporters of The Mayhew Animal Home for over eight years. We started by setting up a direct debit and attending the odd Christmas Fair. It was at one of these fairs that I got chatting to their chief vet Ursula about the work she was doing in South America and India training farm vets to capture and neuter stray cats and dogs. Via my company, we decided to help by producing a selection of films showing how to neuter cats and dogs to allow the training to continue in her abscence. Whilst we were filming at The Mayhew, we witnessed many stories of neglect and abandonment that were incredibly moving which only reinforced the need to educate and inform both in the UK and overseas. The Mayhew also support abandoned animals in Russia and Afghanistan where there are increasingly more and more strays who are desperately in need of neutering and care.
Then, just over a year ago, after our wonderful cat Louis passed away, we tentatively visited The Mayhew before adopting two wonderful kittens they had rescued from a ferral colony. Lily and Mia have grown into two wonderful cats who are full of fun and mischief! They were very lucky. If you are thinking of a cat or a dog please visit the Mayhew - rescue pets really do make the very best of companions!
