Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit this JustGiving page, set up as a tribute to my husband, Steve Plasto, who died in January of cancer aged 44, just two and a half months after his diagnosis of metastatic melanoma.
Steve spent several weeks at the Princess Alice Hospice in Esher where he received the most wonderful care. The strength and courage in which Steve faced this horrific disease was truly inspiring but he always felt he owed a lot to the Princess Alice staff who helped him stay strong and give us the gift of Christmas together, a truly precious memory for all of us but particularly his three young boys.
Everyone at the Princess Alice Hospice showed such kindness and support to Steve, the boys and me and meant that we could make the most of the time we had left with him.
Fundraising is crucially important to cover the £16,000 cost per day to run the Princess Alice Hospice as the NHS only provides 25% of its funding. Steve was so grateful to all the staff for the care he received and would appreciate your donations to this truly wonderful hospice so that they can continue to provide amazing care and support to other families.
Thank you so much.
