Story
I'm attempting to beat my Great North Run PB of 01:32:21 and break into the top 1,000 finishers!!!
Why? Because Katie kept saying how IRT are just short of their fundraising target to provide 7 villages they are working with clean water. I saw the pictures and was shocked! They are currently drinking water from dirty pools of water!
I can't imagine drinking water like that. So I said I would help. If I can raise £260 and then get Vodafone to match fund it (which they will), then IRT will have reached their target. So whatever you donate today will be doubled.
With the money raised, IRT will then be able to build 4 boreholes (think of a water pump) and 3 protected springs (a way to ensure the natural spring water is free from contamination) which will provide the 7 villages and over 3,500 people with clean water to drink.
And this is just the start. IRT will also be supporting the families to go on and learn about good hygiene and sanitation like washing hands and how to build pit latrines (a type of toilet). They will also learn how to maintain the borehole or protected spring ensuring it works for years to come.
So please donate to help the villages of Olaoilongo, Atonmoo, Ayuma Falls, Angirodyango, Oyene, Erril and Aluti to have clean water for life!
If you don't know about IRT they are a very small charity (Katie plus her 4 colleagues) but they have a huge impact as they work with local grassroots groups. It means you can be assured that every penny donated will go to help provide families in Uganda with clean water and change the lives of thousands of people.
