Story
Thank you for wanting to donate to support St Catherine's in memory of Andrew.
We always knew that Andrew was a fantastic son and brother, academically bright and full of sporting prowess with a particular passion for football. We also knew that he had a wide circle of friends, but it was only after this cruel disease hit just weeks after he had started university in 2007 that we realised how true his friends really were. It would have been all too easy to find reasons not to visit and to no longer include Andrew in their activities, but they didn't, they stayed true to their friend and throughout Andrew's 20 month fight they were there for him every step of the way.
Andrew had excellent care from some of the top clinicians in London, but when it became obvious that there was nothing more that they could do to help Andrew it was the staff at St Catherine's who supported Andrew over his last few weeks and allowed him to achieve his wish of being able to stay at home with his friends and family around him, keeping him both safe and comfortable.
No family should have to go through what we have been through, but until there is a cure for the terrible disease that is cancer, St Catherine's will continue to play an important part in providing comfort and reassurance for patients and their families. They need our continued support so please give as generously as you can so somewhere another Andrew can be supported as your friend, our fantastic son, Andrew was.
Thank you.
