Story
In a bid to try and raise a few quid to assist Useful Vision with their amazing work, I’m taking on a few cycling challenges this year and aiming to cover over 2000 miles on the bars. The challenges include:
* June - Cyclone Challenge (Route B) - 65 miles on-road
* July - The Sandstone Way - Berwick to Hexham cross country/off-road route (120 miles) in 3 days. Riding with 4 old school mates who are also supporting the charity.
* August - The Coast & Castles - Edinburgh to Tynemouth on-road custom route (c. 200 miles) in 3 days. Again riding with 3 old school mates. The last leg will incorporate the Great North Bike Ride.
Stuart's story:
My three year old daughter Mabel was born with a serious eye condition and as a result of this is blind. Soon after Mabel’s diagnosis, we were put in touch with a small local independent charity called Useful Vision. Useful Vision exist to support blind and partially sighted children and their families in the North East and they have been a vital resource for us during some uncertain times. They not only deal with the emotional and practical issues associated with visual impairment, they also organise some amazing events that engage and educate the children on the world around them.
Thank you.
