Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As some of you already know, I lost my dad to cancer in May.  His final days were spent at Roxburghe House in Aberdeen where the care and compassion with which he was looked after, and which was extended to my mum, my brother and myself, did so much to make his passing as peaceful as possible.

Dad used to be a keen runner, completing a marathon as well as several half marathons.  I used to dabble but have never previously run further than 10k.  So, to raise some money for Roxburghe House in memory of my dad, I have decided to enter my first half marathon.  And not just any half marathon.  No, I've gone for one which has a reputation for being one of the toughest around.  On 2nd October, I'll be running the Mamores Half Marathon which includes 2000 feet of off-road ascent over the last 13 miles of the West Highland Way.  Being in amongst the mountains also seemed like an appropriate thing to do since dad climbed all the Munros and introduced me to hillwalking and rockclimbing when I was a kid.

If you would consider sponsoring me to do this, it would be hugely appreciated.
