Story
22 Sep 2015: I had to return to the vets to have a growth removed from my foot and also one from my flank :-( I am back at my foster home now. My vet bill costs to date have risen by £580.05, so the fundraising goal of this page has been increased to £2381.65.
I am one of many older dogs in Oldies Club care and the charity really needs your help to raise the funds for my vet bills, so if you can spare a donation of any amount, we would all be really, really, really grateful. The charity can only continue rescuing and rehoming older dogs like me, with YOUR help. Thank you. Love, Sadie x
9 Sep 2015: I am back in my lovely foster home, recovering well from my surgery. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated towards my vet bill costs so far - you've helped raise 33% of my vet bill, which is amazing. Oldies Club couldn't continue to help older dogs like me without your support.
Hi, I'm Sadie, a ten-year-old Great Dane x Mastiff girl. I came into the care of Oldies Club, a volunteer-run charity which rescues and rehomes older dogs in the UK, in August 2015.
Sadly after coming into the charity's care, a vet check revealed that I had two mammary tumours and a cyst. I was booked into the vets to have surgery to remove the tumours this week. Oldies Club had previously been given an estimate of £750-£850 for the surgery, but I had to be kept under for ages and used up a whole oxygen tank! The vet removed
11 small lumps and 2 large ones. Thankfully, and of course most importantly, I came through the surgery fine.
Oldies Club is however facing a vet bill for me so far of £1,801.60, which is a lot of money for a small charity to find, so I have set up this page (with some assistance, because I'm recovering from my operation) to help them raise the money to cover the cost.
I am so thankful Oldies Club was there to take me in and find me a loving foster home when I needed somewhere to go and that they treat the dogs in their care as if they were their very own and do their very best for them. I do hope you will consider making a donation, of any amount that you can spare (it's never too small!) to help now. Please tell your dog loving family, friends and colleagues about me too, in case they'd like to help. Thank you so much.
Love Sadie x
Please note that should Oldies Club supporters be generous enough to donate more than is needed for my vet bill, any excess money will be directed to the charity’s general fund and used to help other older dogs in its care.
