Story

In April this year I will hopefully run, jog, walk or stumble my way round 26.2 miles of the city of London.  I will be raising money for 3 different causes & would love to raise as much cash for them as possible.

Southgate Sport & Leisure Trust (SSLT): SSLT promote sport and physical activity within Southgate, north London. It was founded by a good friend of mine, Warwick Hoyle (who sadly passed away a couple of yeas ago following a cancer diagnosis). He managed to trick me in to running the 2010 VLM & I'm sure would be having a good laugh at my expense knowing I've signed up again, this year running in his memory.

Supercharge ParalympicsGB:  I joined the BPA in March 2015 & am incredibly privileged to be working at such a great organisation. This year we launched Supercharge ParalympicsGB, a fundraising campaign & what better way to champion this project than by signing up to my own challenge.

Team Bryant: It's hard to believe that it's been over 3 years since legendary Jo Bryant (uni hockey team mate & work colleague) lost her battle against cardiac sarcoma (one of the rarest types of cancer).  Jo's legacy lives on through Team Bryant, a Trust that hopes to encourage and support others to be as brave in their own fights against cancer and to help make the battle that little bit easier.

SSLT have kindly granted me the marathon place, and post event will send a cheque to both the BPA & Team Bryant.

The Southgate Sports and Leisure Trust (SSLT) was formed in 1996 as a registered charity to acquire and develop a 6 acre site to provide a community sports centre in partnership with Middlesex University on their campus at Trent Park in North London. Today the facilities at Trent Park are home to hockey, running, football and fitness clubs and offer a wide range of coaching and training facilities to introduce and encourage young people to learn about and enjoy sport.
