Story
At three weeks old Henry failed the newborn hearing screening and after more intensive testing it was confirmed he was profoundly deaf. This was a great shock to all the family as we had no history of deafness .
Henry currently wears hearing aids but does not get enough access to sound even with the most powerful aids available. Henry has now been approved for cochlear implant surgery which should take place in the next few months .
With the help of the amazing work at the Elizabeth Foundation, after the operation Henry will learn to listen like any regular hearing child and we are very hopeful he will develop age appropriate speech to live a full life without boundaries.
The work they do is SO important not only to the children but the support they give the parents in the early days of diagnosis.
The whole family are so greatful for all that the Elizabeth Foundation has done and this is a small way to show our thanks and support to such an amazing cause.
