Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit the 'Support Our Miracles' JustGiving site, raising funds for the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Neonatal Unit.
Our daughter Poppy was born in July 2010. She was 16 weeks early and weighed only 1lb 7oz. She was critically ill, suffered some bleeding to the brain and was unable to breathe unaided. Although the outlook was bleak, the Neonatal Unit took amazing care of Poppy during her 100 day stay there. Thanks to that amazing level of care, Poppy is now a perfectly healthy and happy 3 year old.
Fundraising has taken the form of lots of varied activities, and has been helped along by friends, family and local businesses (as listed below).
Please give generously to help the unit purchase the latest in life saving equipment and support more miracles like ours.
Current Fundraising Challenge!!! - Tough Guy 2014
Trish Clifford and friends will be taking part in the gruelling Tough Guy challenge in March....an 18k run with competitors making their way across mud, fire and water in the most revered obstacle course. It is that gruelling that approximately one third of starters fail to finish!!
Well worth a donation to spur them on and make their pain worthwhile!
19 mile sponsored run
We launched our fundraising activities with a 19 mile run from Telford to the Neonatal Unit in Shrewsbury on Saturday 25th February 2012. Andy Richards (Poppy's Daddy), Paul Connolly and Robin Ward endured the gruelling task, which took a total of 2hrs and 48mins.
Primary School Fundraising Book
The next activity was a fundraising book in conjunction with two Shropshire schools.
There are two designs - 'The Miracle of My Family' by Newdale school in Telford and 'My Mum and Me' by St Peter's and St Paul's in Newport.
Both books are full of poems, stories and beautiful illustrations by the children, plus some facts and figures about the neonatal unit.
It is still possible to purchase a copy. We are asking for a minimum donation of £4 each book. If you would like to purchase a copy, please make your payment directly into the JustGiving site and tell us which book you would like in the comments field.
