Story
On the 6th April 2014 our son, Alex, tragically drowned in the Serpentine in Hyde Park at the age of 26.
Between the 10th and 12th June 2016 a team comprising of some of Mitch's friends are taking to the murky waters of Lake Windermere to raise funds for the Royal Life Saving Society.
Team 'Swim for Mitch' is made up of friends and parents of friends - Gilly Mason, Ben Roberts, Sue Clarke, Liam Clarke, Rosie Franckeiss, Jaimie Fieldhouse, Faye Hall, Sarah Brooks, Oscar Brooks, Stephanie Thirkill, Jackie 'Spitz' Ryan, Helen Day, Tom Bainbridge, Fran Insley and me. If I have forgotten anyone, I apologise. Last but not least, our 'Captn', Chloe Coates (who is not keen on water) and numerous friends and parents of friends who will be travelling to Ambleside to support the team who aim to raise as much as possible for the RLSS.
The RLSS campaign tirelessly to raise the awareness of the public and organisations to the dangers of open water and the saving of lives. Unfortunately, they weren't present on the 6th April 2014.
I would like to thank everybody involved in this challenge for their continuing support and hard work. Team members do have individual sites so please feel free to donate wherever you wish, it doesn't matter; we are a team.
Thank you.
