Story
When we lost our Mum, Susan Reucroft, last November due to complications following a abdominal aortic aneurism, we felt compelled do something good to help others like Mum.
When she thought she could see a time after the hospital, she expressed a wish to do something herself for a charity involved in prevention of AAA's or one involved in her after care. Sadly, Mum didn't recover, and as such her wish went unfulfilled.
As her family, we have decided to raise money for the Circulation Foundation which is the UK's only dedicated vascular disease charity. You can read more about the work of the Circulation Foundation by clicking the link on the right of this page.
We have so far raised £305 through donations made at Mums funeral.
We'd now like to move forward, and make a positive and significant contribution to the Circulation Foundation in Mums name. We'd like to get this total to £1000.
We're going to do this by attempting to complete the Yorkshire Three Peaks route, which is approximately 24 miles in length, taking in the highest peaks in Yorkshire in 12 hours, on 29th August 2015.
We are Susan's children, family & friends. We are all average people, of all ages. Some of us possess an average level of fitness, some of us are not so fit, and this will be the first time we've hiked such heights. So this really is a challenge for us.
We'll be thinking of our Mum, through every mile, which will keep a smile on our face and a bounce in our step when the going gets tough.
We'd love it if you would support our cause by sponsoring us to complete this challenge.
If you would like to make a donation on behalf of Susan's Wish you can do so via this page, or by texting the following to 70070. Simply text the code REUC63 followed by the amount you would like to donate.

Thank you for your support,

November 2014
On the 7th of September 2014, Susan Reucroft suffered an abdominal aortic aneurism whilst at her holiday home in Easington East Yorkshire.
The resulting emergency surgery left her with a long road to recovery and non functioning kidneys meaning she would face a life time of dialysis.
Unfortunately, despite the amazing care Susan received at both the Hull Royal Infirmary and Saint James Hospital Leeds, 66 days after surgery, Susan passed away peacefully in the early hours of the 11th November 2014 held by her devoted children Joanne and Paul.
In the weeks prior to her passing Susan had considered what she would like to do with her life should she recover enough to leave the hospital. Her first thought was that she wanted to do all she could to help raise money for charities whose work would ultimately have supported her through her care or support further research into the prevention and care of abdominal aortic aneurisms.
In memory of this amazing lady, we, her family and friends will be taking on this wish for her and be raising money for Circulation Foundation, The Vascular research charity.
A collection will be held at Susan’s funeral to launch the fund raising, and her family and friends will be organising events in the coming months to raise further support and funds on Susan’s behalf.
For anybody that knew Susan or her family and would like to make a donation in support of Susan’s wishes you can do so via this site. We are sure she would be as appreciative as we are.
Ever the realist Susan didn’t believe she would be able to raise much but knew that every little helped.
Susan passed away at just 63 years of age. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Rarely seen without her infectious smile, she had a spirit of adventure and was the kind of person who longed to see what was around the next corner. We hope her adventures have not yet ended and trust she knows how much she was loved and will be missed.
