UPDATE!

May 24th 2012

Since the start of the year and deciding to run 2012miles for my 2 chosen charities I sustained a knee injury which from the end of March to the beginning of May has meant little to no running BUT lots of rehab training in the gym and swimming!

The knee injury means powering 2012miles running now would mean over 8 miles per day until 31st Dec 2012. I do not think the knee is up to such impact. This has meant I have had to rethink my goal and reinvent my run 2012miles.

So after much rehab and strength training I have decided to power 2012miles from now until the end of the year by cycling!

I will then use the power of running, swimming, rowing and any other ideas to power through the other run 2012miles!

I will take part in various run events from now until December and I will be doing various fundraising events such as sponsored spinathons etc to help raise vital funds for the Southmead Hospital Cancer Unit, ShineTogether Charity. So any support is welcomed as this has become not only a physical challenge but a mental one too!

All money raised means I get a say in how the money is spent within the cancer unit which is amazing but also makes raising the funds for The Southmead Hospital Cancer Unit even more special.

Please help me make it special!

January 2012 - I have decided to take on the challenge of running 2012 miles in 2012. I decided as it was an Olympic year I should aim to achieve a goal fitness related and when a friend of mine John Garner contacted me about 'Running 2012miles' in 2012 I had to say yes!

All the money raised means I will have a say in how it is spent within the cancer unit, so please be kind and any donation is greatly apprecaited.

I am raising money for the Southmead Hospital Cancer Charity fund based in Bristol. The fund provides specialist equipment to help improve care for cancer patients in Bristol, supports new cancer research projects and also helps to pay for additional staff and training for specialist nurses.

Raising funds to improve cancer care for patients is very close to my heart, losing both my parents to cancer and having close friends either currently going through it, in remission or losing the fight.

Please find it in your heart to dig deep or just randomly donate through the year as I slowly reach my goal, I very much appreciate all your support - thank you.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
