Story
Following his tremendous achievement last year, Syed Akram is returning this Arba’een to run again from Najaf to Karbala! He’ll be running the 80km distance in under 14 hours in order to raise funds for Noor Orphans Fund Housing Project. The housing project works to build adequate accommodation for orphaned families living in desperate conditions, and Syed Akram will be raising money to build a house for the family of orphan Zainab Hatim Salim.
Zainab and her siblings lost their father only a few months ago and with their mother bedridden, have been split up amongst different family members in different cities, unable to see each other. Though apart, they all live in terrible, dilapidated conditions and are in desperate need of help. We want to raise £30,000 so that we can build a decent house in which they can all can be reunited and start living together.
Allah sbt says in holy Quran, "Those who spend in charity will be richly awarded" (57:10)
Imam Ali Amir al-Mu'minin, peace be upon him, said: Charity is an effective cure, and the actions of people in their present life will be before their eyes in the next life.
