Story
First things first, I am no professional runner. This is not to say that I'm that 'bad' at running, but I am certainly no Mo Farah.
I've always wanted to run a marathon, so starting with a Half seems like a good idea. Thing is, I have barely done any proper running in my life, unless you count playing 11-a-side over KGV Playing Fields three years ago as a quality running experience? No, neither do I.
However, here I am, giving it a go. I've signed up to the Cheltenham Half Marathon and have my first few runs under my belt. I'm a little late to training, so I will get from puffing my way through a 5k, to (hopefully) crossing that 21.1km finishing line in ultimate suave and sophisticated style, (I doubt it). I'm sure a lot of people could get out of bed and run a Half Marathon before breakfast and without breaking a sweat, but unfortunately for me, I am not one of those people!
I will be running in aid of Cheltenham Animal Shelter. I am a big animal lover and the chance to raise money for such a worthwhile charity will give me that extra motivation to get up and running, ready for September 25th.
Thanks for reading, every penny and pound is massively appreciated!
