Story

Hi Guys, thank you for visiting our JustGiving Page.

We are aiming to raise money for the Wolverhampton NeoNatal unit as a thank you for all of the help they gave Liam Wood and his family. For those of you who do not know Liam or his family his parents have detailed their story below.

"Liam was born full term by emergency C-section but unfortunately not breathing. After being resuscitated by Walsall Manor 13 minutes after birth, Liam was later transferred to Wolverhampton New Cross NeoNatal Unit where he was Cooled for 72 hours.

Cooling helps to prevent any further possible damage from occurring to the brain by a process of controlled hypothermia.

Liam was gradually re-warmed over 12 hours and nursed to full
health coming out of hospital after a period of 15 days. Two days later the MRI scan came back clear and didn't show any signs of brain damage.

Liam is now a fully functioning active little boy who at the age of 16 months is certainly keeping everyone on their toes. We can never repay Wolverhampton New Cross NNU but hopefully we can help them to help other babies and their families have the same opportunities we were given by raising as much money as we can now and in
the future.”

After we heard about Liam's story we wanted to help and as we are slightly crazy we chose to complete a sky dive! So for everyone that knows us I am sure you will good money to have us both pushed out of a plane!

Every donation is appreciated no matter how big or small! Please donate whatever you can to help such a  fantastic unit!

Thank you xxx
