Story

This Trekker Girl is a survivor! Thirty years ago, I had a DVT and a blood clot in my lung aged 26. My father died of a clot in 2001 and  I was then diagnosed with Factor V Leiden, a clotting disorder which affects my life (and those around me) daily.

I see myself as living proof that you can manage risks and live a full and active  life.  I undertook a week long Sahara Trek in 2012 and a 48 km overnight walk into the mountains of Mallorca two years later.

The fundraising continues and I plan to raise more money in the coming months with a book I have written about my adventures. It tells how I have come to love life and live it to the full as a Thrombosis Survivor.

Help me to support Thrombosis UK with their campaigns to 'Spot the Clot' and save lives. Their education, research and information programmes may help save your life or that of someone close to you.
