Story
Hi, I'm Judy. A pretty, precious crossbreed who arrived in the care of Oldies Club, a volunteer-run charity that rescues and rehomes older dogs, in April 2014.
Unfortunately, before even arriving at my foster home, it became apparent that all was not well, when one of my transporters found blood in the crate I had been travelling in. I was quickly taken to the vet, with everyone hoping it was an easily treatable infection, but sadly I was found to have a weeping mammary tumour :-( I also had a chronic ear infection.
Oldies Club arranged for me to have an x-ray and surgery to remove the tumour and I am now back at my foster home, recovering from the operation. Everyone at Oldies Club kept their fingers and paws crossed for good results and were devastated to hear that my test results show I have cancer, which has spread to my lymphatic system :-(
Despite these problems and the pain I was in, I am a happy, lovely girl who is eating well and getting on well with my foster family (other animals included). I wish my results had brought positive news, but I am glad Oldies Club was able to take me in and will ensure I'm looked after, for the rest of my life. My vet bills so far have reached around £1,000, which is a lot of money for a small charity run by volunteers. If you can spare a donation today, we would all be very grateful. Please tell your family and friends about me too, maybe they would like to help as well?
Please note that should Oldies Club supporters be generous enough to donate more than is needed for my vet bill, any excess money will be directed to the charity’s general fund and used to help other older dogs in its care.
