Story
Pammie loved animals. She joked about being a mad old cat lady because there really was never any doubt that her cat Oscar was the most important man in her life.
Pammie gave up her Christmas Day in 2011 to work at Foal Farm, a local animal sanctuary. She really enjoyed that day but it was her time at the monkey sanctuary in Cornwall which she remembered most fondly. A few years ago she lived and volunteered at the sanctuary and she would have dearly loved to have had the opportunity to volunteer there again.
The Monkey Sanctuary cares for a range of different species of monkeys; all rescued from the UK and international primate pet trades. The sanctuary is run by Wild Futures a UK charity that is a leader in the field of primate welfare and conservation, environmental education, and sustainable practice.
Pammie asked that instead of sending flowers to her funeral friends consider making a donation to Wild Futures. To find out more about this organisation that was so close to her heart please visit http://www.wildfutures.org. Stephen Fry supports the organisation and tells the story of a monkey saved from a terrible life right here in London.
