Team Bacon is made up of a number of people, who are undertaking numerous challenges over 7 months in memory of Martin Bacon, who died in 2013 from a brain tumour. We're raising money for the incredible hospice, Thorpe Hall, where he received his palliative care in his final few weeks. As many of you know, Martin was an inspirational head teacher at Swavesey Village College and is still sadly missed by staff, students, friends and family. 

The challenges we've set ourselves for the next year, is finishing with running the 26.2 miles of the London Marathon on April 24^th 2016.

The first event is the Ely triathlon on September 6^th 2015.

Team Bacon is currently made up of members of the Bacon family and staff from the CMAT family of schools:

• Hannah's Half marathon Hatrick October 18th Virtual running event - Hannah Turner, Jo Jenkins, Byron Jenkins
• Town and Gown 10K 25th October - Hannah Turner, Jenna Grey, Kath Pickett, Belinda Knott and Kerry Hunt
• Folksworth 15 miler 24th January 2016 - Mark Woods and Steve Howard
• Cambridge Half marathon 28th February 2016 - Hannah Turner

• Paris half marathon 6th March 2016 - Hannah Turner

• Swavesey Half marathon 20th March 2016 - All of Team Bacon! 5 weeks to go!

• Swavesey 5 miler - various staff and students of Swavesey Village College running club including Jenna Grey, Lisa Bedford and Claire Seymour

• Cardiff World Half marathon Championships March 26th 2016 - Hannah Turner, Joanne Jenkins, Byron Jenkins

• Bedford Harriers Oakley 20 miler April 3rd 2016 - Mark Woods. 3 weeks to go!
