About us
We're taking on a challenge to climb Mount Snowdon. Our challenge starts at 5am (a challenge in and of itself) on the 28th of May. The 8 of us are going it solo up the mountain and with a collective experience of none, we need all the encouragement we can get!
Snowdon is the highest mountain in Wales and England, at an impressive 1085 meters. While we might struggle to enjoy the views it offers due to sleep deprivation and lost limbs, we promise good photos for all who donate and a lot of good karma your way for 8 whole miles of trekking!
About Sufra
Sufra NW London is a Community Food Bank & Kitchen, based in the London Borough of Brent, which aims to support disadvantaged families suffering food poverty in the local area.
More than 29,000 children in North West London are living in severe poverty and may go to bed hungry. Families across the borough are struggling to survive with rising prices, benefit caps and high unemployment. Even those families who may have been comfortable can be caught off-guard when a mother or father is suddenly made redundant.
Sufra NW London provides a life-line for families who simply don’t have enough food to eat. Although we live in a welfare state, there are so many things that can go wrong leaving no money for food. In those moments of crisis we are here to help. We don’t encourage dependency – we provide a maximum of 4 weeks’ support in a year, but alongside our other services, we try to get people back on their feet.
About IUS
IUS has pledged to support Sufra since they joined as a founding partner in 2013. Let's help them fulfil that pledge, please donate today! The average cost of a food parcel is £12, you can make a big difference to a family this week.
Thank you.
