Story

The Royal Star & Garter Homes is a charity founded in 1916. We were established to care for the severely injured young men returning from the battlegrounds of the First World War. Today we provide outstanding specialist nursing, dementia and therapeutic care to the whole military family in our award-winning friendly, modern and comfortable homes. Disabled ex-servicemen and women, and their partners, can all benefit from our pioneering approach to care.

As the Charity is 100 years old this year, we have created a Centenary Challenge to raise money by doing 100 things. So Pauline Shaw, Director of Care and Service Development and Catherine Williams, Trust Manager, decided to take part in the 100k Ultra Challenge and walk from London to Brighton. It will take up to 33 hours but it will be worth it as we will be raising money for a fantastic charity caring for the nation's military family. Please see the video link in the Gallery to watch a 1 minute film to see why we are raising money for our fantastic residents.

We would be delighted if anybody else would like to join our team! Just contact alistair.kingsley@starandgarter.org for details.
