I’m really excited to tell you that I have been selected to volunteer overseas with Balloon Ventures on an International Citizen Service placement, starting in September. ICS works with communities that have specifically requested their help. It also aims to inspire young people in the UK and overseas to become active citizens who are passionate about long term community development. 

Balloon Ventures brings together young people from around the world to volunteer with local entrepreneurs in Kenya, Ghana and Uganda to make sustainable economic developments. Balloon Ventures tackles poverty and creates sustainable and ethical change, by supporting entrepreneurs in the developing world. They fund businesses, create jobs and change lives.

The first part of my placement is to raise £800 towards the work of Balloon Ventures. The money raised will go directly to the programme to ensure that more young people from the UK, can volunteer in the developing world to make a lasting difference, in disadvantages communities. 

I will be doing lots of different fundraising projects over the next few months. You will be able to keep track of what I am doing on my JustGiving page.

I am extremely excited to be taking part in this amazing programme and to be able to make a positive and sustainable change to the lives of people in the developing world, by creating jobs and fighting poverty.
