Story
Hey there, thanks for coming to visit my just giving page... This is my story:
My name is Stephen Kirk, I am 15 and If you didn't know me... You'd probably think that I'm just a 'normal' teenager. I love spending time with my friends, photography, mountain biking and exploring. Moaning like a typical teenager and having fun!
But at home - like many young people around the country - I face a much larger challenge than normal teenage worries. From making my own food on a regular occasion, to clothing my mother when shes ill. She has a long-term illness which makes her feel "as if she was on a boat on rough water whilst being heavily drunk and being violently sick", shes been off work for over a year now. Mixed with school, GCSE's and having a social life...
It gets extremely stressful. But since joining the Young Carers, it's been much more relaxing. I've been on many trips with them, from York, to Newcastle and sailing down the Tyne River. It's been truly a great part of my childhood.
So to thank them, and make my mum proud me. I a few of my friends are doing the Yorkshire three peaks, which does climbs up and down the three highest peaks in Yorkshire. Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. Travelling a whopping 24 miles and acceding 5,200 feet, we are aiming to do it within 12 hours!
I myself will be recording the whole journey, taking pictures with everyone and hoping to share the journey with everyone via twitter!
ALL funding is appreciated and I thank you for any money you can send. Updates of the training walks will be shown soon!
