Story

Our beautiful sister Farah, diagnosed with metastatic gastric cancer in March 2014 at the age of 27 has sadly come to the end of her battle. She passed away on Monday 8th September after suffering for 3 weeks in the Intensive Care Unit. Farah's last wish was for this masjid to be completed, as sadaqah jariyah for herself and everyone who donates to this noble cause.

The Farah Saeed Trust is an umbrella of all organisations and small projects that aim to encourage sadaqah jariya (continuous charity) in Farah's name, as well as du'aas for her complete recovery, InshaAllah.

One such organisation, Farah With Me, aims to raise awareness of cancer and raise money for various charitable causes.

This is a project called The Farah Saeed Masjid; a masjid to be built in the Togez village in Librazhd; Albania.

The Togez village has more than 230 families of the Muslim faith. The village currently does not have any masjids.

There will be a brothers side, a sisters side, toilet and ablution areas.

The total cost to build the masjid is €35016.

Depending on the weather; the construction of the masjid should take 3-4 months. Thus; we plan to fundraise this amount maximum by the end of December 2014/early January 2015 God-Willing, so that it will be ready for Ramadhan God-Willing in 2015.

The first and foremost duty performed by the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) upon entering Madinah at the time of emigration was to build a Masjid.

He said, 'Whosoever builds a house (masjid) for the pleasure of Allah, whether it be small or large, Allah builds for him a house in Paradise'

[at-Tirmidhi, Ibn Khuzaymah, Ibn Hibban, Abu Dawud, and Ahmad]

The FST would like to thank Moulana Khalil and Brother Faik of Rahma Mercy for their support. They will provide photos after its completion.

EDIT: Farah's family would like to extend their sincere gratitude, appreciation and thanks to everyone who stood by them since Farah's diagnosis, and to those who sent condolences when Farah parted us, and those who travelled far and wide to attend her Janazah and burial. She fought hard and suffered tremendously, InshaAllah this will be an expiation for all her sins and a purification for her soul. Alhamdulillah she had a beautiful ending. We ask Allah swt to bestow his infinite Mercy on her beautiful soul, to make her grave one of ease and comfort and to make her amongst the inhabitants of Jannatul Firdaws. Indeed, the pain of separation is intense and though we miss her dearly we know that we're only passers-by in this dunya. Soon our turn will come and IA we will be reunited with her in the highest gardens of eternal bliss. We ask Allah to reward you all abundantly and grant us all a good ending. Please continue to keep Farah in your duas. Jazakum Allahu Khair
