Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit the Big Bad Ride 2 JustGiving page.
Duchenne is a big bad disease for many boys, including my two sons Theo and Oskar, pictured here. It wastes away their muscles, forcing them off their feet and into wheelchairs, and often killing them before they become men.
The Big Bad Ride 2 will see a big bunch of us, many Old Alleynians, embark on another big cycle, this time from Land's End to London over four days, from Thursday 29 September to Sunday 2 October.
We're doing this not only for Theo and Oskar, but also for every other Duchenne boy. There's no treatment or cure, though scientists are getting closer. But they need our help to finally beat this big bad disease.
Please donate, or if you fancy it, join us for the ride. You need be neither particularly fit nor experienced. All that's required is will and determination, and a deep sense of humour.
We're paying our own way, as we make the 4-day, 400-mile ride up from mainland Britain's most southwesterly point, through the historic mining valleys of southern Cornwall to Truro; along the edge of Bodmin moor and over the imposing mound of Dartmoor; up the hills of East Devon, and across the Somerset Levels to Warminster; from Salisbury, through Overton, and the rolling country lanes of Hampshire; before crossing the M25 into London and arriving at Dulwich College for a second year running.
Every penny you give, therefore, goes straight to Harrison's Fund and into the hands of the world's best researchers.
