Story
I know what it's like to have health problems. I've had many since the day I was born. I'm lucky to have a fantastic support of both family and friends which makes it a lot easier to manage, and I realise I'm lucky to have made it to my 36th year!
Recently however things have taken a turn and any form of corrective surgery is no longer an option. I've had to change many aspects of my life but I am managing it very well. Like anyone else, I don't know how long I'll be on this Earth but my recent news has prompted me to do something amazing, to celebrate life.
There are so many children that wont be as lucky as me to see beyond their teenage years, and some simple never experience the joys of life at all.
The Make A Wish Foundation is an amazing organisation that offers seriously ill children between 3 and 17 a chance to experience something extraordinary. They literally make their dreams come true.
It may seem facetious but I know from experience that positivity and a brighter outlook can change the behaviour and attitudes of children with a serious illness.
To support Make A Wish I want to meet ALL my friends on Facebook to raise money. The challenge is to meet on the day of your birthday (or as close as) catch up, take a picture to mark the occasion and if your in a position to, you can make a donation to Make A Wish. It's a lot of travelling but I'm looking forward to catching up with friends that I haven't seen for ages.
The challenge starts on the 1st of January and runs until December 31st. Follow my progress on ...
