Please read if you are thinking of donating, any amount is welcome :)
I was asked last year if I would like to do the above. Friends, whose uncle died a few years ago of pancreatic cancer, decided to organise this amongst about a dozen of us. We are therefore not affiliated to an 'official' event, consequently risking it somewhat, given our usual level of organisation...
The monies that I personally raise, are on behalf of this mental health NHS trust. More specifically, I have been in contact with the Trust Managers, who will set the funds aside for the therapy departments in the Becklin Centre, Leeds. This is an acute mental health centre situated near St James Hospital which appeared to me at least, critically underfunded.
I, many friends, and family, have suffered with mental illness; the reason I choose this over many other equally needy causes.
I thank you for your generosity, whether or not you choose to donate.
the very warmest of regards
David
