We Provide service to homeless people to support homeless people off the streets

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

The Wellspring on Harvey Street in Stockport town centre was set up as a soup kitchen in 1991 but now the charity is open 365 days of the year offering an abundance of services to help homeless and disadvantaged people get back on their feet.

The Wellspring isn't  just a drop in centre for a warm cuppa or a hot meal, its a resource centre for homeless and disadvantaged people in Stockport and the surrounding areas. The charity has dedicated staff and volunteers who's aim is to support homeless and disadvantaged people and get them back into society. The staff provide referrals into housing, educational services, health services, employment support, councelling and lots more but they need our help.

Sadly, the charity has been at risk of closing its doors on several occasions due to shortages of funds. They receive no government or council funding, instead, relying on donations to help raise the £125,000 a year needed to keep it open.

All donations, no matter how large or small, will help to keep this much needed centre open and continue serving the people who rely on its help and much needed support.
