Story
We really don't know what to say.... donations to SADS UK for defibrillator devices in our local area have totally amazed us and we are speechless! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR YOUR GENEROSITY. Thank you also to everybody who has supported our Charity Events and come along when we have bugged you and thanks to everybody who has kindly donated to the numerous raffles we have had.
From a health point of view, it's safe to say that 2011 has been the worst year... but from a fundraising point of view - how amazing! The fact that we are focussing on something that helps others helps us (well - me!) hugely. I think it stops me sitting in the corner and becoming a bit of a wreck!
We have more events planned in 2012. There is a Comedy Night taking place via work on 26th January where SADS UK will be supported... There will be another Swishing Party sometime in February I think (date yet to be fixed). We were approached by somebody at the Race Night who is organising a "Mods & Rockers" Night in April 2012 for Help the Heroes and has offered to split the proceeds with us. That is a massively generous offer from someone we have never met and is greatly appreciated!
Andy will be doing his walks in April & May 2012 and will be bugging you all for sponsorship.
Northants Police host an Annual Ball/Dinner & Dance with the proceeds to Charity... and yes, you guessed it, they have kindly offered to support SADS UK... We are over the moon and can't wait for what will be a great night!
The support we are receiving is overwhelming and we thank every single one of you and every single penny counts!
The defibrillator device is in place at Claremont Nursery - they are just waiting for the training with is in January 2012. The paperwork is going through for the device going into Earls Barton Infant School and we now need to approach Earls Barton Junior School to see if they will accept one...
Busy busy times ahead!!!

WOW - WOW - WOW! Our running total is more than we ever hoped for... especially this quickly. People's generosity is so overwhelming - thank you all so much.
A bit of an update, we held our first fundraising event on Friday 14th October and managed to raise a wonderful £500... This was a Swishing (Clothes Swapping) Party. Huge thanks go to everyone who attended or helped in any way!
A local company also heard about our story and contacted us, offering to donate an entire AED - which was just amazing. I have to admit to being a bit emotional when they told us!
Our next fundaising event is the Claremont Nursery Christmas Bazaar on Sat 26th November, followed by a Race Night (again a local businessman offered to host this for us) on Friday 9th December.
We are clearly very busy but it is amazing and to see our total donations grow like this is really heartwarming (excuse the pun!!)
Again - thanks to you all & it would be lovely to see you at any of our events xxxx

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
As some of you may know, earlier on this year I was diagnosed with a rare genetic heart condition called Brugada Syndrome, which could cause my heart to go into a dangerous rhythm & stop. I have had a defibrillator implanted to shock my heart should this happen.
Unfortunately, due to this being a genetic condition, our 3 year old son Alex has also been diagnosed with this.
We are sharing our personal story as we are now starting some fundraising to initially buy a portable defibrillator for Alex's nursery, but then to continue in the hope we can raise enough to get them for other schools in the area. We will be involved in and also organising lots of events over the next few months so this is warning that we will be bugging you for donations, event attendance or donations...
One defibrillator device is in the region of £1500 - maybe a little less, but we are hoping to continue raising money as Alex starts school in September 2012 so if his school could already have one in place, this would give us huge peace of mind. As we have already said, we would also like to ensure that other schools in the area can also have the benefit of one of these devices.
SADS UK provide information to show that it's not just a child with a diagnosed medical condition that can benefit from the portable defibrillators, in the past, they have saved the lives of other children and also staff members.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. They also take PayPal payments. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Thankyou so much...
Love Emma, Andy & of course Alex xxx
