Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit The Jammers JustGiving page.
Following the successful Jammers Belfast Marathon Relay challenge earlier this year, NOW Group Skills Trainer, Ciaran McLarnon, wanted to further the awareness of the organisation's 'JAM card' while raising some money to provide our clients with additional fun activities and/or resources.
So he roped in his brother, Joseph McLarnon, and best friend, Conan McDonald, and hatched a plan to cycle the North Coast of NI, from Drain's Bay to Waterfoot... and back again! The 40 mile round trip would be supported by NOW Group staff Emma McCabe and Hollie Rice in a support car in case of emergencies and to document and live tweet the journey from NOW's Twitter page, @NOW_Group.
The JAM Card (an abbreviation of ‘Just A Minute’) is a credit card-sized plastic card that people with learning disabilities/difficulties can carry and use to alert staff in retail outlets, public/private transport providers and other areas of public life that the card-holder needs Just A Minute of patience and time when interacting with you. The JAM Card is now in the development process of progressing into and application to be used on smart phones and tablets.
The cycle takes place on Saturday 30th July 2016 departing from Drain's Bay and will complete the return journey on Sunday 31st July 2016. The Jammers will camp overnight in Waterfoot to allow them to start the return journey from the same point.
Photos and videos will be uploaded to this page on completion.
