Story

Update: On Saturday 11th April, John Dunn 'The Man In The Pink Suit', passed away in his home surrounded by his family.

Speaking on behalf of John's family, his daughter Maria said "Dad was where he wanted to be, surrounded by those he loved in his home as he passed away. We are very grateful to the paramedics who attended, they were able to made Dad comfortable and allow my siblings, Lindsay (John's Wife) and I to say goodbye to Dad.

He will be greatly missed by so many people."

JOHN'S STORY
In November 2014 I was diagnosed with cancer of the oesophagus, just a week after my first wedding anniversary.

A few weeks before, I had bought a pink suit for the funeral of my friend’s wife, but ironically on the day of the funeral, I was in hospital myself receiving the news about my own diagnosis.
I referred myself to Heart of Kent Hospice after finding out about the work of the charity following a chance conversation with a fellow patient during my stay in hospital.

I now go along to the Drop-in clinic on a Monday with my wife, Lyndsey for advice and support.  It’s a great opportunity to meet other patients and their carers who are also facing the same challenges.

I’ve been so impressed with what I have seen so far, that I have pledged to raise £10,000 for the Hospice.
I’m now going to use what time I have left to do good for this organisation – and the one thing they need is money.

So why the pink suit?
There’s no colour for what I have, but I want to raise awareness for what this is about.  The message is - if you see the man in the pink suit – please give generously.

Please help me to reach my £10,000 target by making a donation.
