Story
Doctors For Nepal has staged a 4 phased response, and this will continue, and widen in response to this second earthquake.
We cannot emphasise enough how important your donations are at in these hideous times for the Nepalese people. Please do be as generous as you can.
This is how and where your donations have and will be used:
Phase 1: Providing funds for immediate medical care at Patan Hospital in Kathmandu; Funds have been sent, and now we are being asked for further urgent funds to cover equipment needed for the enormous influx in orthopaedic cases. They are currently operating and delivery babies in a field tent.
Phase 2: Assisting the provision of medical care in rural areas immediately affected by the earthquake. We are collaborating with PHASE (http://phasenepal.org) with whom we have a trusted working relationship.
Phase 3: Providing assistance with medical care to those regions indirectly affected by the earthquake
Phase 4: Providing a sustainable approach to improving healthcare in rural Nepal, such as the ongoing provision of scholarships at Patan Academy, elective placement, collaboration with other NGO’s in the area etc.
Medical care will be be non-existent in remote areas, and in Kathmandu is being stretched beyond capacity. We are raising funds to go directly to aiding medical care to those most in need. Please do give generously; your donation will go directly to the cause. It will take months, probably years for the infrastructure to be rebuilt. This is an enormous task, and we need to continue with our efforts tirelessly. Please do support.
