Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Saturday 18th June I will be completing a wing walk working alongside the aerobatics tactics team at a private aerodrome in Essex.
Being strapped into a 5 point harness I will be taking off for an experience that includes zooms and climbs at speeds upto 130mph.
The aim, other to scare my husband and children witless in the viewing circle, is to raise funds and awareness for a wonderful local charity Little Haven's hospice.
Understandably we don't like to talk about childhood diseases which can take a loved and cherished little one away but there are special charities which provide essential help and respite to families who find themselves having to face the hardest of moments in their lives; Little Havens works with families to make these times the best they can be with good memories to hold on to.
Many of you may know Richard and Emma Pike. Their daughter Maisie was diagnosed with infantile Tay-Sachs disease and unfortunately passed away aged 2 years 7 months and 7 days. Maisie's life was short and limited but Richard and Emma, despite their heartbreak, did all they could to ensure her short life was as happy and fulfilled as possible and cherished every moment they had together.
Without the support of charities like Little Haven's; who's help and respite care is given free of charge through these most difficult of times, their ability to care for Maisie would have been severely impaired. In fact the prospect of future parents going through similar situations without the support of charities like Little Havens in incomprehensible.
Little Havens would not exist without the support of charitable donations.
The hospice needs to raise £100,000 each week to carry on their specialist and unique care for local people, so please give generously and help me hit my target or even surpass it!
