We ensure children's rights in India to give children a happy, healthy childhood
Story
Thanks for visiting our Justgiving page. I hope you find it interesting and something that inspires you to follow your own mad dreams :)
The Long Journey Home is about driving half way across the world from London to my hometown Nahan in North India & eventually finishing in Mumbai. This journey will take us through twenty one countries covering almost 15000 miles. It will take around 10-12 weeks to complete depending on the circumstances we find on our route. 'TEAM NAHAN' as we like to call ourselves includes myself Suneel, my brothers Rajesh & Sanjeev Saini, a close friend Sachin Wahal, my cousin Karamchand. Sachin will be with us till Georgia, Karam will join us from China onwards & my elder brother Sanjeev will join us for the final leg of the journey within India.
In 2011, I came across a blog about travelling from London to India by train. I was fascinated by the idea and discussed it with a few friends. I also read about a few other adventurous journeys from Europe to Asia over the following months and dreamt up this fantasy, of one day driving from UK to India. You could say it has taken four years for this dream to turn into reality.
In fulfilling this dream of ours, we are also trying to raise funds for a Charity called C.R.Y that works for underprivileged children in India. Money raised through this pledge will be used to support one of their projects in far flung parts of the country. Many children in these remote communities do not have access to basic facilities and opportunities. A small contribution from all of us can change that. Join this campaign in ensuring lasting change for these children by making a donation. I assure you that all the funds raised through this appeal will go to CRY as our expedition is self-sponsored. Please consider making a donation, no matter however small, it will make a difference to the lives of these children. I request all of you to spread the word and ask your friends & families to have a look at all the good work C.R.Y has been doing.
If you would like to follow our journey, you can do that on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram as well (below). We will also have a blog that you can follow, I will post the link here shortly.
CRY UK works to protect basic rights of underprivileged children in India. It works towards eradicating the root causes of injustice towards children and makes sure that they have access to schools, good health and experience a childhood; seeking permanent solutions that bring about Lasting Change.
