Story

I am running the London marathon as I am a keen runner who has qualified through a good for age place. Sadly however I am now running in memory of my loving dad who was my greatest fan. My dad passed away suddenly on the 9th of November aged only 62 from complications related to haemochromatosis. This is now added inspiration for me to run a sub 3 as my dad always said I would do it soon. I hope to raise as much money as possible to help others effected by this genetic disorder.

About the charity

Genetic haemochromatosis (GH) affects up to 1 in 200 in the UK. With GH, the body absorbs more iron than it needs; this builds up in the organs to toxic levels and can cause irreparable damage. Early diagnosis saves lives. The society supports those affected, promotes awareness and funds research.
