Background

I was asked whilst leading Worship in Spring Harvest whether i would go and help out with Bless’ summer mission to Croatia which includes leading worship for the team. I originally said no, however around 2 weeks ago on the way to work felt God was asking me to ask my leadership team in work whether i could get the time off. They said yes and now it’s all go!

Where?

Slavonski Brod which is a city which is still rebuilding having been caught up in the Yugoslav wars in the early 90’s. There are still lots of people who are emotionally damaged with children growing up in families that are still not over the devastation of the war.

What will I be doing?

I’ll be leading worship or the team twice a day on the river which is on the border of Croatia and Bosnia. Also getting involved with one of two camps. One is a kids club which is for 4-10 year olds and will consist of Bible teaching, crafts, sports etc. The other is a basketball camp which will be working with 40/50 teenagers from the local estates - supported by basketball coaches from the states. In the evenings I’ll be going into the main square with the rest of the team and building relationships with people and praying.

How can you help?

Prayer is a massive thing, I felt called to go on this mission and through the past couple of weeks I have felt God reaffirming that. Just pray for me to be taking out of my comfort zone for the sake of His Kingdom.
