Story
Hi everybody it's Tilly "boo" Roberts here...
Thank you for visiting my justgiving page. As you know I was a very early surprise on 28th January as mummy wasn't very well with preeclampsia. I was born at 24 weeks plus 5 days weighing only 360 grams (13 oz's).! Apparently I am one of the smallest babies to survive given my ickle weight. I was in hospital for 143 days both in the Trevor Mann Baby Unit (Brighton) and the Special Care Baby Unit (Haywards Heath) before I was eventually allowed to go home on 20th June.
I am so grateful for all of the professionals in both units as they got me home with my mummy and daddy. So many babies make it home because of these guys and I would like to raise money for the Early BIrth Association.
What is the EBA? They are a group of parents who have had premature or sick babies in special care units. Many people do not realise that a baby born very early can survive to become a normal healthy child. They offer help and support to new parents who are facing the same traumatic experiences that we faced.
Fundraising
Many of the parents wanted to show their appreciation for the care their babies received so decided to raise money for the Trevor Mann Baby Unit at the Royal Sussex County Hospital. They receive donations and buy items ranging from vital lifesaving equipment, including a scanner, state of the art incubators, blood gas analyser and phototherapy units to clothes and nursery items such as pretty sheets and blankets to make the unit more homely.
EBA have now taken the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) at the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath under thier wing and have started supplying the SCBU with a few items of much needed medical equipment and comfort items for the babies and their families.
Ok, so this is where you guys can help me. Mummy and daddy signed up to do the Brighton Half Marathon and over 40 of you have also signed up to be involved too (thank you big Tilly kiss). Daddy is also doing the Brighton Marathon (crazy fool.!!). I've not met Danny yet but he has convinced some work pals on a boozy night out to take part in Tough Mudder to raise money too which is amazing and sounds so much fun.
So I thought the best thing to do is open this up as a general justgiving page and if you are unable to be involved in the mentioned events but would like to organise a fund raising event of your own then we can all share this page. Please share this page on your twitter, facebook, email, work intranet or anywhere you think it may recieve some well recieved donations.
Thank you lots of love Tilly boo...
Finally from Jemma and I we cannot express enough how grateful we are for all of your support much love x x
