Story
On May 1st I will be running a half marathon to raise money for Amicus. Amicus works to provide decent legal representation to the most vulnerable prisoners on death row in the US.
Those who have watched Making a Murderer will be aware of how tough the system can be for marginalised people. Capital defence lawyers in the US are overworked and underpaid and so it is disproportionately the poorest people who receive the death penalty in the US.
Amicus supports legal teams in the US to help address this problem and achieve a fair trial for all defendants - not just those who can afford the best lawyer!
It's a tiny charity that is trying to make a difference - donating a few pounds would be so welcome!
