Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
All the money raised will go to Helping rhinos and used to help protect rhinos for the future. With my partner Phil we aim to walk 140km the distance the Black Mamba rangers walk every week. We hope to achieve this in 20 hrs over 4 days at the Big cat sanctuary WHF open days in July 21st-24th.
Why I am walking the Black mambas way. I respect them as they are the first all female anti-poaching unit in South Africa.
The teams operate within Balule Nature Reserve, part of the Greater Kruger Park.
There are 26 young women from the previously disadvantaged communitieson the border of the Kruger National Park. These women are deployed in five different areas with the 50,000 hectare Balule Nature Reserve that borders the Kruger on both sides of the Olifants River.
They walk about 20km a day patrolling the reserve. So I am going to try and match that on a crosstrainer, a weeks worth of walking which is 140km.
So wish me good luck.
