Story
This year will be the start of my 15th year working for the National Trust for Scotland and to mark this I would like to raise money to help improve disabled access at Crathes Castle, where I currently work. The inspiration for this came about after an experience I had which involved our late friend, Leighanne Easton. Leighanne was diagnosed with a brain tumor last year and as a result of her condition, was largely confined to a wheel chair for the last months of her life. One of the things that Leighanne wanted to do before she died was to to visit the Enchanted Castle event at Crathes Castle and I volunteered to take her round. It was this experience of how difficult it is, regardless of strength and fitness, to push someone in a wheel chair around a property like Crathes that led me to the idea of raising funds to help all people to access its wonderful grounds and garden. Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
