Story

Hi, I’m Tom Green.

In June of this year, my beautiful Grandma lost her battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was a funny, kind, loving and special Grandma and on 8th October 2016, I will honour her memory by climbing England’s 6th highest mountain, Skiddaw, with my supporters, family and friends.

As a disabled man I won’t be able to take the steps myself, but my team of volunteers from Bendrigg Trust are well prepared to push me to the top. I love to raise money for local charities and this will be my biggest challenge yet (as well as a challenge for my pushers!) and all donations will be sent to Lancaster University’s Defying Dementia project who are working on research to speed up the process, and potentially bring us closer, to a cure for brain diseases.

If you’re up for a challenge, why not join us? But if not, we would really appreciate any donation, big or small. Alzheimer’s is a horrible disease and if I can make a small contribution to the fantastic work of Defying Dementia to find a cure, other families won’t need to lose their loved ones in the same way we lost our Grandma Pat.

Thank you very much.
