Story

I am 18 years old and am currently attempting to set a new world record for the youngest person to ever run from Land's End to John O'Groats. I am wishing to complete the ultra running event in 30 days. By the end of the trip I will have run 38 marathons in 30 days. I am going to be doing this solo with various family members acting as a support crew, ferrying me from stop points to the accommodation for the night and back the next day.

I have a few reasons that are causing me to partake in this challenge. One was sparked from a Kung Fu Panda quote- 'If you only do what you can do, you will never be better than what you are.' I have always been up for a challenge climbing Kilimanjaro and cycling the coast to coast bike ride on 3 separate occasions amongst various other extreme sports and mountaineering excursions. I was thinking of cycling this distance, however, as I knew I could do it I decided to challenge myself further by running instead.

The second reason is that I wanted to raise awareness of ME across the country, by running throughout the entire UK I do not see how there would be a more suitable approach whilst also satisfying my desire for a physical test.

Thank you very much for visiting my fund raising page. I cannot tell you how truly grateful I am of any donation. It really touches me and the ME Association knowing that there is so much support.

The ME Association campaigns hard to have ME recognised as severe neurological illness. Our helpline provides essential information and support to adults and children who have ME/CFS, and to their families and carers. We also fund biomedical research into the physical nature and causes of ME/CFS.
