Story

I am seeking to raise money for Tom Robinson a former pupil of Capel manor College who tragically died in a road traffic accident just over 10 years ago.

A sponsored bike ride and fun day is being organised for Saturday 23rd July 2016 in his memory with the proceeds from the days events going to the College.

The day will start with a sponsored bike ride and for adults and children and the day will feature bouncey castle, pony rides, face painting, arts and crafts acitivities and some small fairground rides which will appeal to adults and children alike.

Capel Manor College offers a range of full and part-time land-based courses which lead to nationally recognised qualifications and skills certificates with potential progression into employment or further study. The College aims to provide excellent facilities for the study of animals, horticulture, arboriculture, countryside, garden design and floristry. To improve our commitment to our students we need to raise funds to enhance and modernise facilities. We are planning to build a new Animal Care Centre that will house an up-to-date laboratory and better quality space for veterinary teaching. We will then be able to expand our animal collection and hope to have areas dedicated to small mammals, reptiles and amphibians, along with an aquarium. The contemporary design of the building will work in harmony with the environment and ensure that these animals are on view to members of the public visiting the gardens. We are also aiming to build a new Bartlett Centre for Arboriculture Studies to support teaching and climbing. To improve facilities for visitors to our gardens we have on going plans to develop a new Visitor Centre at the entrance to the Gardens. We want all our visitors to enjoy their time in the Gardens and hope that they will want to come back again and again. We plan to make stylish improvements to the gift shop, café and general facilities showing them that we are committed to providing a better quality experience.
