In May 2016 I will be undertaking a 100km (or 62+ miles in old money) from London to Brighton. It can take anywhere between 24 and 30 hours of walking to go the distance and I am hoping to train hard and complete it and still have a smile on my face when I cross the line!In early 2015 I was diagnosed with laryngeal cancer (cancer of the vocal chord). I was very lucky as it was found at a very early stage and I received amazing care here in Guernsey from the original biopsy operation, to a trip to Southampton General to have the option of radiotherapy offered to me to the laser operation that I went through less than 3 months after original diagnosis.
I personally hadn't been aware of the symptoms of this disease and I want to raise awareness of what to look out and listen for.
