Transaid Christmas Appeal 2011

Yes, it’s that festive time of year again! This year, with your help we’re hoping to raise £30,000 to improve the way transport is run and managed across Africa and the developing world.

Road deaths are the third biggest premature killer in sub-Saharan Africa after HIV/AIDS and malaria. 1.3 million people die globally from road crashes every year. This figure is set to rise and become the leading cause of death by 2020.

 

The Professional Driver Training Project in Zambia and Tanzania is a solution to help stop the crises. Through building the skills of drivers to become safer, more efficient and more competent our Project reduces the number of road crashes and saves lives. We’ve already trained over 2000 drivers. You can help us to train many more.
