Story
Whilst I appear to be doing well and over my target, I have been advised that I have a total of three offenses to account for, and then there is a question of my speeding… I am told the judge is very fair however he will take a dim view as I have been to naughty school for a mobile phone offence in Basingstoke and a speeding offense in Southend.
So a minimum of five hours community service of further fundraising is expected of me!!!
I have been asked to participate in a spoof fundraising initiative called "Jail or Bail" created by Ormiston Children and Families Trust which I have been closely involved with over the past decade. I am mainly approaching potential sponsors in the East Anglian region, and a few generous friends who may help further afield.
I think the experience of being arrested by the police, taken for interrogation and finally to appear in court in front of a senior high court judge, will give the arrested parties a taste of what is it to go through the judicial system, and making us acutely more aware of what it must be like for many young and vulnerable people who find themselves in a similar position, without the support mechanism that the Ormiston Children and Families Trust provide. So whilst it seems a jolly, there is a more serious aspect.
I am sorry if you are feeling Justgiving fatigue, or over burdened by the many charity fundraising emails you receive over the course of the year, but I and the charity would be grateful if you could find a few pounds to help make this a success.
Regards
Trevor
