We raise much-needed funds to help the wider Household Cavalry family

Story

To raise money for the Household Cavalry Operational Fund, which helps British soldiers and their families, Benny Harris and Camilla Lennon are undertaking the TRIChallenegGB.

Following the three disciplines of a triathlon (Swim, bike, run), Benny will swim Loch Ness with Camilla paddling in a canoe beside him as safety boat (22 miles).

The most challenging part of this endeavour is Loch Ness -

·Loch Ness is Britain’s largest body of fresh water, its deepest point is 230m  (755 ft).

·Because the water is so deep, it never really warms up, so even at this time of year it’s only around 5-7° C (41-45° F)

·Loch Ness is 23 miles long (37km), but the tides sweep swimmers sideways so they have to swim further

Next they will both travel up to John O’Groats, jump on a tandem and cycle to Lands’ End (876 mile).

Finally TRICahllengeGB culminates in a 90 mile run from Avebury, near Swindon to the Ridgeway path to Ivinghoe Beacon.

Total: 988 miles

The aim is to complete this in 10 days!
