Story
In July of this year, Matt Townsend, Amy Townsend and Jon Walker will be embarking on 3 separate cycling challenges in support of our client Chester Zoo’s global charity, Act for Wildlife. These are completely self funded challenges, which means that every penny of the money raised will go to the charity.
First to go is Matt on the 10th July. He’s riding the French Etape de Tour in the Alps, which is a stage of this years Tour de France. Riding over 140km’s and climbing more the 3,700 meters through the mountain roads of the Alps in a day, this challenge is not one for the faint hearted.
Next to go on the 20th July is Amy, who’s riding from London to Paris. The challenge consists of four back-to-back 80-mile days, which culminate in a grand arrival under the arches of the famous Eifel Tower. The challenge is a huge test of endurance that will see Amy pedalling over 320 miles.
To top off the trio of challenges Jon is riding the Prudential Ride London 100 miler on the 31st July. An event that celebrates the legacy for cycling created by the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the ride starts in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, then follows a 100-mile route on closed roads through the capital and into Surrey’s stunning countryside. Having ridden the course last year, Jon is going for gold and aiming to beat his previous 100-mile time.
The team are aiming to raise £1000 for this fantastic charity, and they’d really appreciate your help in reaching their target.
